What is the common characteristic of these things: a compass, an astrolabe, a back staff, and an octant? All are tools which aid in navigation. In today’s world, the latest form of navigation is GPS, which we not only use in most every form of transportation, but is also utilized in our phones. It becomes obvious that there is something within the heart of mankind that desires to know where he is going. Still, plotting our path and arriving to our intended destination does not necessarily mean we will be happy there.
God desires for us to follow a course which leads us to a satisfying place, a place of comfort, peace, safety, and joy. His plan is to lead us ‘by the right way.’ God has a plan, a pathway, which He has prepared for you. His plan for you includes hope and a future! He has planned your days even before they began. Regrettably, we do not always follow after His plan or follow His way. As Solomon shared in Proverbs 19:21, there is a vast difference between the plans in a person’s heart and the purposes of the Lord.
Situations around you may be telling you that you are headed in the wrong direction. However, if you are closely following after God’s plan, you are moving in the right direction. Continue following God’s way. It is the right way! His way will lead you to a place where you can experience His joy, comfort, peace, and safety for a satisfying life.
